The Payroll Section is responsible for the calculation and distribution of
employee pay, W-2’s and IRS form 1099 for approximately 19,100 Department of
Health and Human Services employees. The section is also responsible
for: the maintenance of employee deductions, health insurance and annuity billings,
payroll total cost payment transfer requests, deposit of employee deduction
checks from the Office of the State Controller, Payroll Unit, direct deposit
authorizations, notification and collections tracking of outstanding salary
overpayments and Division of Blind Services Payroll Distribution Database maintenance.
