Revised Adult Care Home Bed Need Determination for Graham County

To: Recipients of the 2008 State Medical Facilities Plan

From: Craig R. Smith, Assistant Chief, Certificate of Need Section
Elizabeth Brown, Chief, Medical Facilites Planning Section

Date: June 27, 2008

The 2008 State Medical Facilities Plan (SMFP) as published indicated "no need" for additional adult care home beds in Graham County Service Area. On June 6, 2008, the Certificate of Need Section learned that Cole's Assisted Living that was formerly licensed for 12 adult care home beds had closed and the beds were no longer licensed. This change reduces the number of licensed adult care beds in Graham County to 23.

Pursuant to Policy Gen-2, the adult care home bed inventory for Graham County has been revised and the projected need has been recalculated. The projected need for Graham County in the 2008 SMFP is increased from zero to 20 beds. Certificate of Need applications will be due September 15, 2008 for review beginning October 1, 2008. Completed applications with filing fees must be submitted no later than 5:30 PM on September 15, 2008.

An excerpt from a revised Table 11B (PDF, 27 KB) and a revised version of Table 11C (PDF, 25 KB) are available. Please insert these new pages into your 2008 SMFP. If you have purchased multiple copies of the 2008 SMFP, please make copies of these revisions for each document.
