General Conference Information
Emergency Medicine Today (EM Today) is one of the most widely recognized EMS educational conferences in the country, offering its attendees the opportunity to hear presentations from outstanding faculty from across North Carolina and the United States. The conference offers continuing education credit for topics of general interest and current advancements in the fields of pre-hospital emergency care, emergency and trauma medicine and public health. The Disaster Medical Preparedness Conference will be integrated into EM Today this year, offering Disaster related breakout sessions during EM Today. The conference audience includes basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) personnel, emergency medical dispatchers (EMD), EMS professionals, EMS administrators, EMS educators, emergency medicine/trauma physicians/nurses, public health professionals, emergency managers, State Medical Assistance Team (SMAT) personnel, disaster planning coordinators, medical facility administrators, law enforcement officials, search and rescue responders, preparedness officials and others who play an important role in critical incidents.
Call for Presentations
The Call for Presentations for both the 2013 Emergency Medicine Today Conference and the Disaster Medical Preparedness Conference is open until close of business on April 1. If you are interested in submitting a presentation proposal, please review the Call for Presentations Announcement document below. All submissions must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013.
Paramedic Competition
The Office of Emergency Medical Services, North Carolina College of Emergency Physicians, and North Carolina Association of EMS Curriculum Educators will conduct the 23rd Annual Paramedic Competition. The registration fee will be $55.00 per team with no more than two teams from each North Carolina paramedic agency. Entry fees are non-refundable unless your agency's team is not included in the schedule.
