As announced at the September 26, 2007 State Health Coordinating Council (SHCC) meeting, the date for both the Radiation Oncology Discussion Group and the PET Scanner Discussion Group has been set for Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Each discussion group will meet for two hours.
The Radiation Oncology Discussion Group meeting will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. As in previous years with technology discussions, the participants will include radiation oncology service experts, service providers, interested members of the Technology and Equipment Committee and other interested parties. The discussion group will discuss the current status of radiation oncology services and other appropriate issues.
The PET Scanner Discussion Group meeting will be from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. As in previous years with technology discussions, the participants will include PET service experts, PET service providers, interested members of the Technology and Equipment Committee and other interested parties. The discussion group will discuss the status of the state-of-the-art PET scanner and services and other appropriate issues.
At its next meeting, the Technology and Equipment Committee will take the comments from the group discussions and decide on the best synthesis of ideas. This synthesis of ideas may then be used to modify the methodology for the Proposed 2009 State Medical Facilities Plan (SMFP).
