Notice Regarding the Hospice Methodologies Task Force

Upon the recommendation of the Long-Term and Behavioral Health Committee and as ratified by the N.C. State Health Coordinating Council (SHCC), an eleven member Hospice Methodologies Task Force has been appointed by Dr. Dan Myers, Council Chairman. The task force is charged to fully evaluate the hospice home care and hospice inpatient need determination methodologies for the Proposed 2010 State Medical Facilities Plan (SMFP). The task force will also consider a comment submitted this year regarding reallocation of hospice inpatient need determinations based on a SMFP Policy. Task force membership is outlined below.

The first meeting of the task force has been set for Friday, January 23, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Conference Room 201 of the Council Building on the Dorothea Dix Hospital Campus. The address is 701 Barbour Drive, Raleigh, NC 27603.

The second meeting is set for Friday, February 20, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and a third meeting is set for Friday, March 27, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The second and third meetings will be at the same location as the first.

Documents produced for meetings will be posted on the DHSR website.

Please note that any changes to the task force meeting schedule will be posted on the meetings web page noted above. No additional letters will be sent regarding this task force. Therefore, please monitor the web page for information.
