Community Alternative Program for Disabled Adults
(CAP/DA) Town Hall Meetings
The Community Alternative Program for Disabled Adults (CAP/DA) is a waiver program approved by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1982, and granted to the Division of Medical Assistance. The purpose of the CAP/DA program is to provide home and community based services as an alternative to nursing home placement for Medicaid clients 18 years of age and older.
CAP/DA is being offered in all 100 counties in the state. CAP/DA waiver services include, but are not limited to Case Management, Adult Day Health, In Home Aide, lead agency medical supplies, and other Medicaid covered services.
The North Carolina Division of Medical Assistance is hosting five town hall meetings across the state starting May 6, 2008. The goals of the town hall meetings are to:
- Inform providers and consumers about the CAP/DA Waiver.
- Evaluate the current CAP/DA policy and discuss changes to improve the program.
- Facilitate local conversation and collaboration among CAP/DA agencies and providers.
Who should attend?
CAP/DA Lead Agencies; CAP/DA Consumers and Caregivers; Medicaid Providers; Public Officials; Consumer Advocates; and Long-Term Care Providers
