Private Duty Nursing Stakeholder Meetings

Private duty nursing (PDN) is an optional Medicaid State Plan Service covered by North Carolina Medicaid.  Session Law 2010-31 (Section 10.35(12), page 81) mandates DMA to restructure the provision of PDN services. Additional information on this initiative is available in a Report on Controlling the Cost of Medicaid Private Duty Nursing Services to the Joint Legislative Committee from the N.C. General Assembly Program Evaluation Division.

These PDN policy changes will include:

• development of a Technology Dependent Waiver for adults
• development of  Independent Assessments and service limitations for  children (under the age of 21 years)

In preparation for these policy changes, DMA will hold three meetings to gather public comments.  DMA is in the early planning stages and values any and all input from community stakeholders.

All of the meetings are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. through 12:00 noon. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m.
