The North Carolina Division of Services for the Blind (DSB) has a long and rich history of services to the blind and visually impaired citizens of the State.

We are able to offer these services through cooperative efforts from Federal, State and County resources. Blind and visually impaired people as well as people with vision and hearing loss have benefited from our long partnership with the Lions Clubs and other consumer and advocacy groups throughout the State.

The Division provides services statewide through staff in seven DSB District Offices and Social Workers for the Blind located in all North Carolina counties.

Many of our services are mentioned on this site. If you have needs that relate to loss of vision and do not find a service that will meet your needs here, please contact us to make further inquiry. We place great emphasis on providing services on an individualized basis. While this site will give you an idea of what we can do, the services provided to you or your family member will be determined through talking with a Counselor or Social Worker for the Blind.
