State Rehabilitation Council Meeting Minutes

September 11, 2004

Call to Order of the State Rehabilitation Council

Following the Commission meeting, John Miller opened the State Rehabilitation Council meeting at 11:45 a.m. The following members were present: John Miller, Debbie Jackson (ex-officio), Graham Watt, Allen Moore, Catherleen Thomas, Angela McCants, Annette Clinard, Ron Huber, Tom Winton, Kathy Brack, Sandy Foster (ex-officio), and Russ Stinehour.

Others Present: Joann Strader, Jan Fesperman, Dave Arthur, and Carla Parker.

Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Catherleen Thomas, seconded by Allen Moore, and carried to approve the minutes of the meeting June 12, 2004.

Committee Reports:

• Policy and Procedures Committee—No Report

• State Plan Committee—DSB is waiting on approval letter back from RSA.

• Annual Report—Dave Arthur presented the annual report and asked for suggestions on formats. DSB uses the calendar format. Other States use formats such as binders, booklets, or smaller calendars. It was agreed to stay with the calendar format with the possibility of integrating braille into some pages if possible. The theme has not been finalized but will be associated with the Rehabilitation tree such as branching out for success, grow to success, etc.

• Consumer Information Committee—Catherleen Thomas distributed the Satisfaction Survey results for the 4th quarter and a compilation for the year. Any suggestions for changes in the survey for next year are welcome.

Adjournment of Meeting

Following an adjournment motion, a second, and a vote, the meeting adjourned at 12:45 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for December 11, 2004.
