If I have questions about my tax refunds being intercepted,
who should I contact?
Question: How do I
report fraud?
Answer: If you suspect that someone is committing
fraud, you may report it by calling the county
Department of Social Services or by calling the Economic and Family Services
Branch. The Economic and Family Services Branch may be reached by calling toll-free
at 1-800-662-7030 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Please provide as much information about the recipient as possible (name, social
security number, address, employer's name, and date of birth, etc.). You do not have
to provide your name. All information is confidential.
Question: If I have questions about
my tax refunds being intercepted, who should I contact?
Answer: Any questions you have regarding your federal and
state tax refunds being intercepted should first be referred to the
county Department of Social Services. If you
need further assistance, you may call the Economic and Family Services Branch
toll-free at 1-800-662-7030 or locally at 919-334-1100.
