NOTE: North Carolina is a State Plan state, and has its own version of OSHA, called NC OSH. A state plan must be at least as effective as the Federal program, but may substitute different standards and interpretations which are as or more stringent than the Federal version. NC OSH has in a few instances developed its own standards, directives, and interpretations differing from the Federal versions displayed on these pages. Always check the NC OSH website for such substitutions before relying solely on the Federal OSHA site.
