Performance Management Employees

Course Description

Performance Management for Employees provides an overview of the Performance Management System. This two-hour instructor-led class is no longer available.

The course addresses the elements of the workplan that include key responsibilities and dimensions. It also provides an overview of the DHHS Directive 34 that outlines the process and policy of planning workplans, tracking performance, and evaluating performance.

General Course Objectives

By the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Identify key responsibilities and results for their work plans.
  • Understand dimensions and expectations for their work plans.
  • Understand the difference of a development plan and an improvement plan, when they are used, and why they are used.
  • Understand how performance is evaluated using the N.C. Rating Scale.


Intended Audience:
All non-supervisory employees.
