Working Through Conflict

Course Description

During this workshop, videos, workbooks and other materials, developed for N.C. State Government by Development Dimensions International, Inc., are integrated with the training. The class will examine the conflict process and the choices you have for handling conflict as well as explore key ways to defuse conflict using a variety of techniques. You will learn how Key Principles and Interaction Guidelines can be used to conduct a conflict discussion. You will then plan how to successfully discuss real-life conflict situations using these skills. To apply what you have learned, you will actually practice using the interaction skills by working through a realistic conflict situation with another participant. And, hopefully, you will share insights and help other state employees in the workshop identify how to apply these skills back on the job.
