Onboarding
Welcome to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and to the Division of Human Resources (DHHS-HR).
You have joined the ranks of dedicated human resource professionals who contribute to make DHHS the best place to work in state government.
This onboarding orientation is a starting point for you to learn how your job fits in the big picture. It is not designed to teach you about the intricate details, programs, references and contacts required to perform your job. It only scratches the surface of the wealth of information you will learn and retain in order to perform your new duties.
Most of your education will come from on-the-job mentoring, DHHS-HR classroom and online education modules, external development opportunities, and experience.
The objectives of this onboarding orientation are to introduce you to:
- The core values and customer service expectations for DHHS-HR,
- What is confidential information versus public information,
- The basic organization structure of DHHS-HR, DHHS and North Carolina state government, and
- Central office, division, and facility human resource services, references and programs.
Thank you for choosing to become a member of the DHHS Human Resources team as well as joining the community of the Department of Health and Human Services.
