Operation New Day is a human resources initiative that began in the summer of 2009 as a result of the implementation of the new HR/Payroll system known as BEACON. As a result of the new system, Human Resources saw the need to review the processes for how employees are paid.

Five teams were assembled to begin reviewing business processes, forms, letters and other documents. These teams also looked at the role of the manager, employee, HR, timekeeping and payroll staff.

Because the BEACON system is so integrated, each piece of the process needed to be reviewed to determine a better way to ensure that employee pay is timely and accurate.
