Consumer Empowerment Team

The Consumer Empowerment Team is the communication link between Consumer and Family Advisory Committees (CFACs) and the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services (DMH/DD/SAS).

The Consumer Empowerment Team:

  • Provides guidance in the development and maintenance of the local and state CFACs
  • Informs CFAC members of available training and educational opportunities
  • Assists in quality improvement activities important to consumers
  • Collaborates with DMH/DD/SAS staff to achieve the desired outcomes
  • Participates in state and local initiatives to provide public awareness of DMH/DD/SAS efforts
  • Expands outreach and education opportunities to community organizations
  • Provide technical assistance to grass roots advocacy organizations
