Training Questions and Answers

Questions:

  1. What is the status of the three hour “PCP Process in NC”?

  2. What kinds of training fulfill the "2-5 hours in other topics related to service and population(s) being served" (from Enhanced Services Implementation Update #10)?

Answers:

  1. What is the status of the three hour “PCP Process in NC”? The Person Centered Plan Instructional Web Cast posted on the DMH/DD/SAS website meets the 3-hour requirement for PCP Instructional Elements.  Visit the following link to view the web cast. http://www.ncdhhs.gov/mhddsas/pcp.htm

  2. What kinds of training fulfill the "2-5 hours in other topics related to service and population(s) being served" (from Enhanced Services Implementation Update #10)? It is important that training in "other" topics be unique, related to the service and population(s) being served, and not related to: NCI, CPR, or first aid. What we mean by "unique" is that one certificate of completion for training may not be used twice (e.g., a certificate of completion for training in person centered thinking may not also be used to fulfill the requirement for training in "other" topics). Training in "other" topics is designed to deepen providers' understanding of the particular services and populations they serve and as long as there are separate certificates of completion for these "other" hours in the provider's personnel file then auditors may grant wide latitude in the "other" training topics.
