Training Questions and Answers

These Q&As pertain to Person Centered Thinking and Planning.

1. We have conducted Person Centered Planning training since April, 2001.  What changes need to be made to maintain our compliance? What credentials, curriculum is required?

2. Agencies are receiving training in Person Centered Planning.  It is my understanding that the Division is going to offer their own training in this area.  Should we wait for the Division training or should we go ahead and receive the training from other trainers in order to meet the 90 day rule?

1. We have conducted Person Centered Planning training since April, 2001.  What changes need to be made to maintain our compliance? What credentials, curriculum is required?
   The Division has not issued any directives regarding how to maintain compliance.  Please exercise your best professional judgment in maintaining your competence and the competence of your staff.  The Division is also not providing curricula nor requiring any particular curricula (there are, however, some "minimally required elements" that must be included in some curricula). 2. Agencies are receiving training in Person Centered Planning.  It is my understanding that the Division is going to offer their own training in this area.  Should we wait for the Division training or should we go ahead and receive the training from other trainers in order to meet the 90 day rule? We are still operating in accord with Enhanced Implementation Update#10 which states that agency staff may take any of the very good PC trainings currently available.  Continue to visit our website for updates.
