Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center provides services and supports to individuals and families affected by lifelong disabilities and by Alzheimer’s disease. The center has 167 beds. It is committed to excellence in care and treatment based on a person- and family-centered philosophy. In addition to direct services, the center provides family and community education in support of effective partnerships to build community capacity.  No one is denied admission because of inability to pay. The Alzheimer’s program serves 62 counties in the central and western part of the state. The Alzheimer’s Respite Program serves people from all 100 counties. At present, the specialized developmental disabilities program serves medically fragile and aging people with development disabilities from all 100 counties.
