DHHS to Launch Youth Mental Health First Aid

Raleigh, N.C.

DHHS Secretary Aldona Wos will recognize graduates of the first North Carolina cohort of Youth Mental Health First Aid instructors at an event on Friday, February 21. The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services is sponsoring this training in support of one of the NC Center for Safer Schools recommendations "to develop resources to ensure access to training in Youth Mental Health First Aid." The training provides adults with skills to help adolescents (age 12-18) who are experiencing mental health or addictions challenges or are in crisis.

            Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services
             32 program graduates, representing 95 counties in North Carolina
