The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services announced that Margaret "Mardy" Peal submitted her resignation yesterday to pursue an opportunity in the private sector that will allow her to spend more time with her family. Mardy was part of a team that crafted the Department's Medicaid Reform plan that is based on an ACO model. This plan was submitted to the General Assembly in March and unanimously passed the House of Representatives in July.

"I want to thank Mardy for her service to the State and for being a valuable member of our team," said Dr. Robin Cummings, North Carolina's Medicaid Director. "Working with doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers and stakeholders across the state, DHHS will continue to pursue our Medicaid Reform plan. Our plan is based on an ACO model that is right for North Carolina, puts patients first and ensures a more predictable Medicaid budget."
