Federal Medicaid agency notifies state of mental health deferral

RALEIGH — Today the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services received a notice from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services of deferral of payment for a mental health program.

This notice confirms a less formal notification last week. The letter informs DHHS that the federal agency will defer payments for the Community Support mental health service until the federal agency is satisfied that abuses are no longer occurring in the program.
