Engaging CIE Stakeholders Due to the complexity of this transformation and the impact on individuals, providers and families, DHHS has developed plans for robust stakeholder engagement and communication to help ensure the success and sustainability of our CIE strategy. In addition to individuals, families and providers, these plans also target community advocates and leaders, provider associations, legislators, LME/MCO (and future BH I/DD Tailored Plans) and other stakeholders. These plans will evolve over time in response stakeholder needs and concerns. Target audiences for stakeholder communication and engagement include: General Public: Information will be shared with all North Carolina citizens. Providers: Ongoing engagement, technical assistance, training and support. Individuals and families: Ongoing engagement, town halls, webinars, printed information and training. LME/MCOs and BH I/DD Future Tailored Plans: Ongoing engagement, operational changes related to Competitive Integrated Employment transformation, trainings, and technical assistance. VR Offices: Ongoing engagement with local VR offices and providers. NC General Assembly and local public officials: Ongoing engagement with legislators and other public officials to provide information and education on CIE, DHHS efforts, and funding needs. Employers: Ongoing engagement to promote employment and work-learning opportunities for North Carolinians with disabilities and support workplace disability inclusion efforts.
