Community Services Block Grant Assistance

Community Action Agencies provide services to bring people out of poverty. Services are provided to meet your individual needs such as employment, housing and crisis prevention. These agencies are able to provide information and referrals to other helpful resources to assist you.

Who is Eligible?

Your total household income must be at or below 125 percent of the federal poverty level. Each local agency will inform you of any additional eligibility requirements.

How to Apply

Contact the Community Action Agency in your service area for this information. These services are not offered in all North Carolina communities. 

You may also contact the DHHS Customer Service Center at 1-800-662-7030 (English or Spanish). The DHHS Customer Service Center is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays.
