Dale Armstrong

Dale Armstrong is the Deputy Secretary for Facility-Based Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability Services at DHHS.

Dale is a board-certified fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves as a member of the Able Act Board of Directors. He is a veteran of the United States Army Presidential Honor Guard.

Prior to joining DHHS, Dale served as Vice President of Regional Operations for WakeMed Health & Hospitals; CEO of Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, N.C., and Regional CEO for Behavioral Health Hospitals in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Dale earned a Bachelor of Science in medical technology from the University of Maryland and a Master of Business Administration from Valdosta State University.

Dale and his wife Anne have two children: Brad, and his wife, Jen; and Kristy, and her husband, Anthony. They also have three grandchildren: Abigail, Spencer and Noah.
