Located in a renovated space on Raleigh’s historic Dorothea Dix Campus, the Dix Café offers coffee, hamburgers, salads, sandwiches, cinnamon buns, breakfast burritos, smoothies, paninis and more. The café is operated by the Division of Services for the Blind’s Business Enterprise Program, and serves as a model training facility for legally blind individuals seeking a career in foodservice and vending, with the first class expected to begin in January 2019. Graduates receive licensure to independently serve as operators of foodservice and vending facilities throughout the state.

The café is located in the same space as the former Dix Grill, on the ground floor and the back side of the McBryde Building.
Hours of Operation
Open to the public 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday on state work days.
Lunch specials are available until 2 p.m., and from 2-3 p.m. only snacks are offered.
