Secretary Wos to read to children in Raleigh as part of statewide childhood development initiative
DHHS Secretary Aldona Wos will read to children at Jordan Child and Family Enrichment Facility in Raleigh as part of the statewide Week of the Young Child reading initiative on Wednesday, April 9 at 9:30 am.
The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration designated by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The purpose is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families. This weeklong celebration, from April 6-12, recognizes how the early childhood years provide the foundation for success in school and throughout life.

In addition to the Secretary's event in Raleigh, Division Directors and other officials from DHHS are visiting early child care facilities across the state to read a book and spend time with the NC Pre-K children.
