DHHS Shoutouts: NASW-NC Advocate of the Year, Walter B. Jones Staff Fields Calls On-Air About Opioids and More

NCDHHS recognizes employees and partners doing positive work in their communities.

Chase Holleman was selected by the National Association of Social Workers North Carolina Chapter as the recipient of the 2018 Myrna Miller Wellons Advocate of the Year Award for his work on improving state policies to address the opioid epidemic. He will receive the award at the NASW-NC Social Work Ethics Conference and Awards Luncheon on March 23 in Durham.

Dr. Sonya Longest, Jade Butler, Jim Holland, Geraldine Jones and Kathy Schutz from Walter B. Jones Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment Center recently took questions from callers during a WNCT event about opioids and treatment options. 

Jennifer Woodstock, a Certified Physician Assistant at Broughton Hospital, recently earned a specialty credential, a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ), from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
