Lynn McCarn Discusses Customer Service

Hi, My name is Lynn McCarn.

I am a Lead Nursing Eye Care Consultant for Services for the Blind. I have been employed with State and Local government for twenty five years. I have a very strong passion for customer service. I’ve always put Customer service as a priority for internal and external customers. I always have the attitude to do more than is required and always have a smile.

Listening is so important when serving customers. It is amazing what you will learn by just listening. I believe in excellent and clear communication skills. Sincerity and integrity are so important to gain trust in the customer. If we treat internal and external customers with sincerity and integrity the customer wins, and DHHS wins. Patience is essential and it’s important to never let internal or external customers think you do not have time for them. 

I’ve learned to be honest, respectful, knowledgeable and to respond to everyone in a timely manner. I’m strongly committed to the customers I serve and meeting their needs. For me, that’s what makes DHHS “A Great Place to Work”!
