Educators and Researchers
The state's public and private colleges and universities increasingly show interest in the concerns of older adults and in aging as a process. This is evident in the work of the new Institute on Aging of the University of North Carolina. The Institute on Aging is supported with funds from the N.C. General Assembly. It is to focus on research, education, and public service and is to connect the interests of the many campuses in North Carolina. In addition, community colleges and cooperative extension agents provide
education and training of service professionals and consumers. Contact Dennis Streets at the Division with questions concerning these university programs or with news about any such activities.
