The Office of Public Affairs is the communication arm of the department.
Public Affairs helps divisions and offices when they have requests from the media. All employees are encouraged to talk with reporters about their areas of expertise. But, if you aren’t comfortable talking with reporters, you will not be forced to do so. If you prefer not to talk to the media, please refer them to the Public Affairs Office at 919-733-9190. Don't ignore the media call.

If you are creating a document for public consumption, work with your public information officer to have it polished and approved.
