Foster Care Services for
Adults
Foster care
services for adults involve recruiting, developing, and evaluating adult
care homes to determine if they meet the needs of residents and to help
them improve upon their service.
Adult care homes
provide 24-hour supervision and must be licensed by
the state in order to operate legally. They are not nursing homes,
although designated staff can administer medications and provide personal
care services (such as assistance with bathing, eating, and dressing).
All county Departments
of Social Services that have an adult care home in their county provide
this service.
If you or someone
you know requires this service, contact your county
department of social services.
