This session focused on aptitude of service. By the end of this discussion, attendees should be able to identify the dimensions of cultural competency, recognize implicit bias and its negative consequences, and assess ways to foster an inclusive environment for WIC participants.

During this session expert William Kaericher, analyzed North Carolina redemption information and provided advice on methods to increase the likelihood of food benefit redemptions by participants. By the end of this session, attendees should be able to calculate of WIC Leakage and its value to retailers, build a plan to identify drivers of leakage, and plan to measure improvement and show progress.

2023 New Applicant Orientation Training for Retail Vendors
The North Carolina WIC Program in collaboration with the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association has established the North Carolina WIC Retailer Advisory Council to discuss topics relevant to North Carolina WIC retailers (vendors). The North Carolina WIC Retailer Advisory Council meets twice a year. A reminder email will go out when closer to the meeting dates, along with the Zoom information.
