Designation 2023
The Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO), will begin accepting applications from organizations that can demonstrate the capacity to provide comprehensive services consistent with the requirements of the Community Services Block Grant Act for Caswell, Person, or Rockingham counties.
Below, you'll find key information and deadlines related to the process of designation.
Information Sessions
OEO will host three information sessions about the designation process in August. If you plan to attend an info session, you must register by 5:00 pm on July 28.

- Thurs., Aug. 10 at 12:00 p.m. EST – In person event in Rockingham County (Address TBD)
- Wed., Aug. 16 at 10:00 a.m. EST – Virtual event (hosted on Zoom platform)
- Tues, Aug. 22 at 10:00 a.m. EST – Virtual event (hosted on Zoom platform)
Intent to Apply
If your organization intends to apply, you must complete and submit an Intent to Apply form by 5:00 pm on August 7, 2023.
Designation Application
Applications are due by 5:00 pm on Sept. 1, 2023. The application must be received by OEO on or before the deadline.
