How to Get Connected and Involved

The Opioid and Prescription Drug Use Abuse Advisory Committee (OPDAAC) was established in early 2016. Work of the OPDAAC focuses on providing guidance and leadership in the following:

  1. The implementation of the NC Strategic Plan to Reduce Prescription Drug Abuse.
  2. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Prescription Drug Overdose Prevention for States Cooperative Agreement awarded to North Carolina through 2019.

The 2017 Opioid Misuse and Overdose Prevention Summit was a two day event that focused on engaging and educating more than 550 community leaders, teachers, first responders, social workers and healthcare workers on the opioid crisis in North Carolina.
