On April 1, NCDHHS and Positive Childhood Alliance NC (PCANC) held a community event at John Chavis Memorial Park in Raleigh to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month in North Carolina.
North Carolina's 2026 Child Abuse Prevention Month campaign theme is "Positive Childhoods Start With Us," which serves as a reminder that everyone has a responsibility to create the conditions children and families need to thrive.
This April, NCDHHS and PCANC are joining the national effort to shift the narrative around child maltreatment and increase investments in programs and policies that prioritize strong families and build connected, supportive communities.
