Peer Counselor Contact Calculator

A Peer Counselor must communicate routinely with women enrolled in the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling (BFPC) Program. The Peer Counselor Contact Calculator was created as a quick reference to know when the required and recommended contacts are due for prenatal and postpartum WIC participants.

How to Use the Calculator

To calculate the required and recommended prenatal contacts, enter the "Date BFPC Welcome Letter Signed (optional)" and "Estimated Due Date" dates in a MM/DD/YYYY format. For postpartum contacts, enter the "Actual Date of Delivery" in a MM/DD/YYYY format.
If a WIC participant enrolls in the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program postpartum, the field "Date BFPC Letter of Agreement Signed" becomes an optional field to receive the results.
If enrollment in the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program occurs within 30 days of the Estimated Due Date, the calculator will reflect completing the first prenatal contact by the Estimated Due Date. A second prenatal contact is still encouraged when feasible.
