The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will host its Annual Assistive Technology Expo “A Day in the Life with AT” on Oct. 5, at the McKimmon Conference and Training Center at NC State University in Raleigh.

The expo is an event for individuals with disabilities, their family members, employers, and organizations interested in learning more about the range of assistive technology available. The expo is open to the public, and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend — especially senior living providers, older adults, vocational rehabilitation counselors, therapists and educators. The expo will feature a vendor hall with more than 30 vendors, break-out sessions that include continuing education credits and speakers.

The public is invited to register to attend the 2023 Assistive Technology Expo to preview the latest technology, connect with AT vendors and explore community resources.

Registration is free, but required. The expo will run 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, and will take place at the McKimmon Conference and Training Center, 1101 Gorman St., Raleigh, NC 27606.

This year’s event is in person but will have a virtual option for those who cannot attend in person.

The NCDHHS Assistive Technology Program is a state and federally funded program that provides assistive technology services statewide to people of all ages and abilities. NCATP leads North Carolina's efforts to carry out the federal 21st Century Assistive Technology Act by providing device demonstration, short-term device loans and reutilization of assistive technology. The program promotes independence for people with disabilities through access to technology. There are 10 NCATP Centers located throughout North Carolina.
