NCDHHS Launches Electronic Health Records System for State-Operated Health Facilities

MEDIA ADVISORY — Credentialed media are invited to attend a ceremony marking a significant advancement in patient communication and health care from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The launch of electronic health records, powered by Epic, will bring health records from 13 State Operated Healthcare Facilities online allowing for better data management and patient care.

Credentialed media are invited to attend a ceremony marking a significant advancement in patient communication and health care from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The launch of electronic health records, powered by Epic, will bring health records from 13 State Operated Healthcare Facilities online allowing for better data management and patient care.

Electronic health records improve clinical care and streamline workflows for staff across the 13 facilities. Electronic health records also improve security of patient health information.  Additionally, it will allow patients’/residents’ health information to be managed by providers and shared with other authorized users.
