The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will host a virtual webinar to provide updates on the Transitions to Community Living (TCL) program following the U.S. Department of Justice finding NCDHHS in substantial compliance with the TCL settlement agreement.
TCL helps eligible adults with severe and persistent mental illness and serious mental illness transition from state psychiatric hospitals and adult care homes to community living, where they can choose where they live and work. The program is a pillar of North Carolina’s Olmstead Plan, which promotes community inclusion for people with mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and substance use disorders. The Department remains committed to advancing community inclusion in partnership with community members, providers and advocates.
