NCDHHS' Office of Rural Health Contracts Team volunteered at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC on Nov. 25 in Raleigh to give back during the season of gratitude and giving.
The team sorted and packed 20,000 pounds of food, pet, infant and hygiene products. Because of their help, 16,700 meals were distributed just in time for Thanksgiving.
NCDHHS' Office of Rural Health (ORH) supports equitable access to health in rural and underserved communities. Thanks to the team for furthering the department's mission of improving the health, safety and well-being of all North Carolinians by helping to ensure people in need have an adequate food supply.
