This week, NCDHHS Secretary Sangvai read the book Stand Tall by Molly Lou Melon, a book about self-esteem and resilience, to a group of students at Creekside Elementary School in Durham.
The event was part of Read Across America Day on March 2. Additionally, Governor Stein and First Lady Anna Stein visited Green Magnet Elementary School in Raleigh to celebrate Read Across America on March 2.
“Read Across America Day is a celebration of the joy of reading and a reminder that it is the building block for learning,” said Governor Josh Stein. “When we help young students build strong literacy skills and ensure teachers have the support they need, we set students up for success in the classroom and beyond.”
