About the Council

The Brain Injury Advisory Council (BIAC) studies the causes and impact of traumatic and other acquired brain injuries in North Carolina.

The Council provides recommendations to the Governor, the General Assembly, and the Secretary of Health and Human Services on how to plan, fund, and deliver a statewide system of services to meet the needs of people living with brain injuries.

BIAC Committees

The BIAC often seeks dedicated individuals who are not current council members to serve on its working committees. These committees help the Council give advice to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) about services and policies across the state. We welcome people who have personal experience with brain injury and those who have professional knowledge in related areas.

Committees are currently full. Vacancies will be posted here when available.
