Child Welfare Listening Session - Aug. 22, 2018

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Social Services is seeking public input at a listening session on Wednesday, Aug. 22, in North Wilkesboro on how child welfare services can be improved.

While comments will be accepted on any area relevant to child welfare, DHHS is particularly interested in hearing ideas for:

•    Improving safety, permanency and well-being outcomes
•    Services for high-risk populations (i.e., children aged 0-5, foster youth aged 18-21, LGBTQ population, runaway youth, pregnant foster youth)
•    Post-adoption services

Public input is vital to understanding what is working and what can be done differently. The session will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the Friends of the Library meeting room in the Wilkes County Public Library, 215 Tenth St., North Wilkesboro.

Input can also be provided via:
