About the Facility  

Walter B. Jones Center is one of three state operated North Carolina Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Centers. The Walter B. Jones Center provides inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with substance use and other co-occurring mental health diagnoses to prepare for ongoing community-based treatment and recovery. The Walter B. Jones Center operates and provides treatment services through the following program: 

Walter B. Jones Woodside Treatment Center - Provides inpatient treatment for substance use specific and/or co-occurring substance use and mental health diagnoses.

Walter B. Jones Woodside Treatment Center "High Risk" Perinatal Program - Provides inpatient treatment for pregnant women seeking addition treatment in their 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimesters.

Walter B. Jones Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) - Provides inpatient treatment for opioid addiction.
 
Walter B.  Jones Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital - Provides short-term inpatient psychiatric treatment.
 
Walter B Jones Woodside Treatment Center OUTPATIENT Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) - Provides outpatient treatment for opioid addiction through the use of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
 
All Clinical Services provided through any program at the Walter B. Jones Center use best practice standards, that include the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Trauma Informed Care, Seeking Safety and Motivational Interviewing. The Walter B. Jones Center is operated by NC DHHS / Division of State Operated Facilities. 
 

Eligibility and Admission Criteria

Admission is available to any adult in our region regardless of financial resources or insurance status. Patients pay on a sliding scale according to their income.

Tobacco Free Facility

WBJ Center is a tobacco free facility. Staff, visitors, and patients are not allowed to use or possess any type of tobacco product, including E-cigarettes while in the facility or on the grounds of WBJ Center.

 

Cost and Financial Arrangements 

The Walter B. Jones Center is a state operated facility. The charge for care and treatment is based upon the actual cost to the hospital. However, many patients and their families cannot pay the full amount of this cost and services can be provided on a sliding scale. A member of the admission’s team will discuss the financial situation with the patient and family upon arrival. The WBJ Center does accept insurance.
