About the Facility

Julian F. Keith is one of  three state operated North Carolina Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Centers (ADATCs) specifically designed to provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with substance use and other co-occurring mental health diagnoses to prepare for ongoing community based treatment and recovery.

Eligibility

Admission is available to any adult in our region regardless of financial resources or insurance status. Patients pay on a sliding scale according to their income.

Medically monitored detoxification. Psychiatric services. Medical and nursing services: Substance abuse and co-occurring treatment, recreational therapy, family services, discharge planning.

Human Rights Committee

All patients admitted to Julian F. Keith ADATC have the right to dignity, privacy, humane care and freedom from mental and physical abuse, neglect, and or exploitation. The Human Rights Committee (HRC) for the facility has the responsibility to safeguard and protect the rights of these patients. The HRC meets every two months on the third Tuesday of the month at 3pm in the Administrative Conference Room of Julian F. Keith ADATC, 201 Tabernacle Road, Black Mountain, NC. If you are interested in attending a Human Rights Committee meeting, please contact the recording secretary at 828-257-6362. (NOTE – If you have admissions inquiries or any other questions regarding JFK ADATC, please call the main phone line at 828-257-6200).
