Minority Health Advisory Council (MHAC)

The Minority Health Advisory Council (MHAC) was established by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1992. The MHAC advises and makes recommendations to the Governor and Secretary of Health and Human Services, identifies and reviews health promotion and disease prevention strategies, and supports policies and legislation to improve accessibility and delivery of health services through the promotion of health equity strategies.

Provider Operations Virtual Office Hours

August 27, 2019, 4pm

Provider Clinical Optical Services-Vision Care

This session will cover routine optical services with time for questions at the end. Routine optical services include routine eye exams, prescription eyeglasses, and medically necessary contact lenses. Providers who may bill for these services and may benefit from this VOH session are ophthalmologists, optometrists, and opticians.

Community Meeting on NC Medicaid Managed Care: Providers & Community Agencies

August 26, 2019, 2:30pm

Senator Gladys Robinson and Senator Michael Garrett, partnering with DHHS, will provide updated information on managed care, answer questions and obtain feedback on the launch of Medicaid Managed Care. Representatives from the Medicaid Managed Care Health Plans and Enrollment Broker will be available.

Health care professionals and other interested individuals are encouraged to attend this session.
