The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking job applicants to work at J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center (JIRDC) and will host a hiring event on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the center in Morganton. JIRDC is a state-operated developmental center dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The career fair will offer an opportunity for attendees to explore a wide range of roles, including:
- Direct Care staff
- Licensed Nursing positions
- Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) positions
- Clinical Healthcare roles
- Maintenance roles
JIRDC is actively hiring professionals interested in these roles. During the hiring event, individuals will have the chance to learn about JIRDC’s mission, participate in on-site interviews and may receive a conditional offer extended to them on the same day. Available positions offer hands-on professional experiences and salaries reflect competitive starting pay. For example, the entry level direct support roles start at $17 per hour.
