NCDHHS to Hold Media Availability to Address Importance of Vaccinations

NC Health and Human Services Secretary Dev Sangvai, NCDHHS Director of the Division of Public Health Dr. Kelly Kimple, and Medical Director of the Medical Consultation Unit Dr. Erica Wilson will hold a virtual media availability on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 2:30 p.m.

NCDHHS will address measles cases in North Carolina and the importance of being up to date with vaccinations, the CDC’s updated immunization schedule, the rise in respiratory illnesses in North Carolina and urge individuals to get their seasonal vaccines.  

Vaccines remain one of the most effective means available to prevent severe illness, hospitalization and death. They help protect the health of children and adults, their families, and entire communities from the spread of infectious diseases.
