DHHS Flu Shot Clinics on Dix Campus This Week

Flu season is here and DHHS wants you to be vaccinated! As in previous years, DHHS will be offering flu shot clinics for employees, their dependents, and eligible retired state employees.

DHHS Secretary Mandy Cohen and her daughters received their flu vaccinations last week at Wake County Human Services in Raleigh.

Oct. 15, 2018 - Flu season is here and DHHS wants you to get vaccinated! As in previous years, DHHS will be offering flu shot clinics for employees, their dependents over the age of 4 and eligible retired state employees.

This year, DHHS has scheduled the Dix Campus Flu Shot Clinics from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, and Thursday, Oct. 18. Shots are provided on a first-come, first-served basis until supply is depleted.

Quadrivalent flu vaccines are free for employees and family members covered by the State Health Plan. Please bring your State Health Plan (SHP) membership card to the clinic. Flu Mist and the Fluzone brand will not be available this year.

Dependents and on the SHP over the age of 4 can receive the flu shot at no charge if they bring their SHP Member ID card. Employees with dependent children under the age of 4 should get information about the flu vaccine from their child’s primary care provider (PCP). Those with Neomycin allergies should see their PCP as well.

Flu shots will also be provided at no cost to Blue Cross Blue Shield participants, and retired state employees with Medicare Part B if they have their member ID card. Non-Medicare eligible state retirees enrolled in the State Health Plan should bring their member ID card for a free flu shot. UnitedHealthcare coverage will not be accepted.

Working at DHHS, but not covered by the State Health Plan? Take advantage of the convenient time and location. Flu shots will be $35 per shot for employees not covered by the SHP, as well as contractors, private temporary agency employees, and Temporary Solutions employees who do not participate in the High Deductible Health Plan.
